WATTER – DISINFECTANT is a disinfectant based on active chlorine with a maximum content of 1%. It has been independently tested for its effectiveness according to standard tests (EN) and is suitable for disinfecting various areas and products such as:

The product is officially registered as an active substance and product supplier on the European Article 95 list for disinfectants (PT2-5).
The active ingredient in WATTER DISINFECTANT is referred to as “active chlorine released from hypochlorous acid” according to the European Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR). In some national laws and technical regulations, the “old” term “sodium hypochlorite” is still used.
The dosage of the disinfectant is based on the regulations of the drinking water ordinance and must not exceed 0.3 ppm. The exact implementation, concentration, and documentation should be determined according to local conditions.
The disinfectant is shelf-stable for 1 year with proper storage and a sealed container and should be used within 3 months after opening. It should be stored cool and protected from direct sunlight and contamination.
WATTER – DISINFECTANT complies with various legal regulations, approvals, and conformity requirements. It complies with the requirements of the European Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR), is approved as an active substance manufacturer according to Article 95 of the BPR and is listed in the Federal Environment Agency’s list according to §11 of the Drinking Water Ordinance. The product is not classified as hazardous according to the CLP Regulation and meets all requirements of DIN EN 901 for products for drinking water treatment.

Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) is a mild acid that is naturally produced in the white blood cells of all mammals. It plays an important role in our immune system. When exposed to initial infections, our body forms oxidized chlorine molecules like hypochlorous acid to kill pathogens through oxidation and chlorination. Compared to sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl), which is also an oxidizing agent and is produced by electrolysis, HOCl is much more effective in killing pathogens due to its neutral charge. It can directly reach the cell walls of germs and oxidize them, while NaOCl struggles to penetrate the cell walls and delays its oxidation process.
